           has its goal to develop personnel in the public

           and private sectors both    

           domestically and internationally as follows:

           â€ĒCareers for graduates in the Master of Arts Program

           in Tourism          

           Management, namely

           â€ĒExecutives, academics, researchers, and practitioners

           in government                 

           and private sectors both in Thailand and abroad

           â€ĒExecutives or Self-employed person /independent

           professionals in the tourism industry and business services

           â€ĒLocal researchers   

           â€ĒExecutives and faculty in educational institutions

           â€ĒOfficials and employees in local government organizations

 


                   






                           Objectives:

1. Demonstrate the ability to formulate research questions aimed      

at addressing issues in various tourism management contexts                                            

by applying relevant theories, principles, and management techniques,                          

with careful consideration of ethics, professional codes of conduct,                                   

legal frameworks, and applicable regulations                                

2. Design research projects to resolve problems

in tourism management by selecting appropriate tools

and methodologies tailored to the specific research context.                                               

3. Integrate knowledge in tourism management effectively and appropriately within diverse contextual frameworks.                                                         

4. Present research-based recommendations that ethically contribute to the betterment

of society.

The media production of the ThaiPBS prog...

On 24 September 2025,
Dr. Kanjana Sommit (Lecturer, International College) and Dr. Nithat Boonpaisarnsatit (Lecturer, Faculty of Liberal Arts) participated in the media production of the ThaiPBS program Tase Detective at the research site located in Baan Pang Maklauy, PaPae Subdistrict, MaeTang District, Chiang Mai.
The feature highlighted the research theme: “Spice Tourism", with particular focus on Makwan (Zanthoxylum rhetsa), recognized as the ‘King of Spice.’
This collaboration underscores the integration of academic research with public media to promote knowledge dissemination, cultural heritage, and sustainable gastronomy tourism. The initiative also aligns with the objectives of the Spice Route Project, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), contributing to the development of local communities through research-based tourism.

On September 24, 2025,
Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana,Dr. Sutheera Sithikul, Associate Dean, Associate Dean of the International College ,participated in the “MJU Car Free Day” activity by collectively walking around the university campus, covering a total distance of 10,446.32 kilometers. This event was part of the project "Driving the Green University Initiatives: MJU Green University 2025," which aims to promote sustainability, reduce environmental impact, and support the university’s transition toward carbon neutrality. The activity also encourages faculty, staff, and students to recognize the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, while fostering collaboration and environmental awareness within the university community. Moreover, this walk not only helps reduce vehicle use and air pollution but also promotes the health and well-being of the participants.

This planning process emphasizes the active participation of faculty members and staff in reviewing past performance, analyzing both internal and external contexts, and clearly defining strategic directions for the upcoming year.
The expected outcome of this project is a clear and well-defined Annual Work Plan for the year 2026 that aligns with the university's policies and effectively responds to global changes.

During 17 – 21 September 2025, the research team from Maejo University, led by:
Dr. Kanjana Sommitr, International College, Project Leader
Dr. Nitath Boonpaisansatid, Faculty of Liberal Arts, together with the team
visited the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kunming to introduce the “Spice Route” Project.
The project was warmly welcomed, with the Consulate-General expressing strong support in promoting it as a new cultural tourism product—unique, engaging, and with great potential to attract Chinese tourists. The initiative highlights the charm of Thai cuisine and culture, seamlessly connecting with Chinese culinary traditions.
In addition, the research team filmed the Spice Route journey in Kunming–Lijiang, featuring the iconic Sichuan peppercorn (Huajiao), a key spice in the famous Mala cuisine from the Lancang River basin, as the highlight of this expedition. âœĻ

The farewell ceremony for retirees...

On September 18, 2025, the International College, led by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana, Associate Dean of the International College, Dr. Sutheera Sithikul, Associate Dean, Mr. Warunsiri Sujinda, Acting Director of the Dean’s Office, led the team from the International College to participate in the farewell ceremony for retirees
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, graciously expressed his gratitude and extended his best wishes, and presented plaques of honor to the retirees.
During the ceremony, the executives and staff of the International College, led by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, presented souvenirs to Maejo University’s retirees.
This gesture was made to show appreciation, to recognize the importance and dedication of all personnel, and to pay respect to the senior colleagues who have completed their service and made valuable contributions to the organization and society.
This year, a total of 34 staff members retired from Maejo University. The event took place at the Chaloem Phrakiat Sports Center, Maejo University.
