MJU Extend It's International Co-operation at 2023 APEC Workshop

Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University Signed an Academic Cooperation Agreement (MOU) with Professor Dr. Wang Wei, President of Feng Chia University during the 2023 APEC Workshop of Empowering Indigenous Social Awareness on Renewable Energy and Increasing Inclusion Sustainability for Green Energy Applications in APEC Regions. The MOU aimed to foster academic cooperation, research, curriculum, student, and staff exchange. The two universities had enjoyed long years of academic cooperation and activities since 2016. There had been more than 20 short-term student exchanges, including the exchange of staff members and short-term researchers, as well as jointly conducting research and publication of five international academic works in Q1 international journals. On the same occasion, Professor Dr.Ir. Oktovian Berty Alexander Sompie, M.Eng, President of Sam Ratulangi University, Indonesia also signed an MOU to become a member of the ASEAN Agricultural University Network (AAUN).

The closing ceremony program on "Agro-To...

On May 8, 2024, Dean of the International College of Maejo University, Associate Professor Dr.Rapeephun Dangtungee  presided as the chairman of the closing ceremony program on "Agro-Tourism Trail and Cultural Exchange Program" held at International Education and Training Center, Maejo University. The program started since January 17th 2024, consisting of 24 students from the United State of America, under the signed MOU between Maejo University and International Sustainable Development Studies Institute. Present at the closing ceremony program was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mark Andrew Ritchie (Director ISDSI), including lecturers and Staff from MJU-IC and ISDSI respectively.

Associate Professor Dr.Weerapon Thongma, Acting President of Maejo University, and Associate Professor Dr.Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, and staff from Maejo University and International College join the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock (MoAL), Bhutan and  Maejo University (MJU).  Through this cooperation, desire to achieve the following objectives under this MoU:

a) Enhance technical capacities, skills, and know-how of the secretariat services, technical departments, and its associated services and agencies, such as the National Biodiversity Center (NBC), at both the central and decentralized levels;

b) Strengthen and improve the management and administrative capacities, skills, and know-how of the Secretariat Services and Departments of MoAL at central and local levels;

c) Increase production and commercialization of selected agricultural commodities with marketing potentials; and

d) Improve the approach to knowledge management and training documentation in the MoAL.

The MOU was signed by Dasho Thinley Namgyel, Secretary of MoAL and Associate Professor Dr.Weerapon Thongma, Acting President of MJU

Associate Professor Dr.Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, and staff from International College join the 2024 Maejo University Traditional Thai New Year celebration activities in the parade and pouring scented water on the hands of revered Chairman of University Council Board members, administrators, retired and senior professors, alumni and ask for blessing for this new year. Maejo University play an important role in preserving, promoting and transmitting the astrological knowledge and wisdom related to Songkran. Songkran promotes community cooperation, unity and forgiveness. It is viewed as a time to symbolically wash away misfortunes, pray for prosperity for the coming year, reunite with family members, and honour ancestors and older adults.

This year Maejo University International College also won the 3rd prize of Songkran parade (small size institution) and 3rd prize of Lanna Lab (northern ground pork salad).
