The farewell ceremony for retirees...

On September 18, 2025, the International College, led by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana, Associate Dean of the International College, Dr. Sutheera Sithikul, Associate Dean, Mr. Warunsiri Sujinda, Acting Director of the Dean’s Office, led the team from the International College to participate in the farewell ceremony for retirees
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, graciously expressed his gratitude and extended his best wishes, and presented plaques of honor to the retirees.
During the ceremony, the executives and staff of the International College, led by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, presented souvenirs to Maejo University’s retirees.
This gesture was made to show appreciation, to recognize the importance and dedication of all personnel, and to pay respect to the senior colleagues who have completed their service and made valuable contributions to the organization and society.
This year, a total of 34 staff members retired from Maejo University. The event took place at the Chaloem Phrakiat Sports Center, Maejo University.

The opening ceremony of the "Agriculture Sustainability and Culture Exchange Program" at the Maejo University International Education and Training Center in Chiang Mai.
🌐The opening ceremony began with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rapeephun Dangtungee, Dean of the International College, welcoming the students of the program, followed by a welcoming remark from Associate Professor Dr. Mark Andrew Ritchie, Director of ISDSI, Chiang Mai, Thailand. The ceremony was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, who honored the occasion with his presence.
🚌 In the morning, ISDSI students took part in a campus tour, led by Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar, providing participants with a memorable and insightful experience of Maejo University’s environment.
In the afternoon, they participated in activities related to Northern Thai culture (Lanna) at the Arts and Culture Promotion Division.
- 🥁Traditional Thai instruments and Lanna Thai music were introduced by Mr. Wutthiphat Ketpatthanapol.
- 🪇Thai dance, Fon lep (fingernail dance): A northern Thai dance style, and Traditional Thai clothing were demonstrated by Miss Weenapat Pongpa.
- 💐 Sweet sticky rice with longan was taught by Miss Sriwan Bunrueng.

Organized a Research Forum under the the...

On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Research Promotion and Development Office, Maejo University, organized a Research Forum under the theme “Techniques for Applying International Research Grants: Insights, Experiences, and Building International Research Networks.”
​The forum was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, who presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a special address. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of international research collaboration in enhancing the university’s academic excellence and global reputation. He also encouraged faculty members to actively seek opportunities for international research funding to contribute to sustainable development both domestically and internationally.
​The keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Metha Wattanapanit, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, Academic Council Committee, Maejo University, who shared experiences and strategies in applying for international research grants and establishing global research collaborations.
​In addition, Dr. Kanjana Sommitr from the International College and Dr. Nitath Boonyapaisansatit from the Faculty of Liberal Arts were invited as guest speakers. They shared their valuable experiences in conducting international research and presented a practical case study on securing funding from the Mekong Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (MLCSF).
​This forum provided essential knowledge, practical techniques, and inspiring experiences for Maejo University faculty members, aiming to strengthen their capacity to access international research funding and expand academic networks at the global level.

Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Winitra Leelapattana, Associate Dean of the International College, Dr. Suthira Sitthikun Associate Dean and Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar, Assistant Deans, as well as faculty members and staff of the International College, warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Shui-Chuan Chen, Dean of the College of Management, and a delegation of five representatives from National Chin-Yi University of Technology (NCUT), Taiwan. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for academic collaboration between the two institutions.

On Friday, August 15, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University, and Dr. Prakash Murgeppa Bhuyar, Assistant Dean of the International College, attended the celebration of the 79th Independence Day of India at the Indian Consulate in Chiang Mai.
The President of Maejo University was invited as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. On this occasion, he delivered the opening congratulatory speech, extending warm greetings to the Indian community on their 79th Independence Day. In his address, he highlighted the strong relationship and growing cooperation between Thailand and India, emphasizing the importance of academic, cultural, and diplomatic exchanges in strengthening bilateral ties.
